We are happy to introduce you to a truly dynamic solution to traditional moulded foam seating;
Custom 3D Printed Programmable Foam®
This incredible technology combines 3D printing and bio-compatible soft TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) material for customisable, comfortable and pressure-distributed elements. The idea behind using this 3D printed material is to allow for complete control over defining structural hard zones for the outside of the product and, softness zones throughout the structure for pressure relief, as well as creating gradient transitions between the zones to create one uninterrupted product.
How do we create the moulding?
The client simply sits on the cutting-edge moulding jacket and cushion foundation. We then mould the jacket and foundation to the desired shape. The impression is then scanned to create a digital 3D model and sent to the manufacturer to create. The moulding experience itself takes no longer than thirty minutes. We can create almost any conceivable shape, so is ideally suited for accommodation of severe postural needs.
Benefits:
Compression control
Cooling effect due to incredible ventilation
Reducing pressure points
Fast drying Washable, even in a washing machine
Hygienic Antimicrobial
What happens when you have a client that struggles to regulate their own body temperature?
Microclimate control is key to skincare management and heat and moisture are two contributing factors to pressure ulcers. Through the integration of the WheelAir system into custom moulding seating, WheelAir allows for self regulation of the body temperature through convection, conduction and evaporation heat loss. Due to the gyroid structure of the 3D printed cushions it allows heat and moisture to be drawn away from the skin easily and when we add the WheelAir system to the cushion it creates an active airflow through the cushion which provides a cooling effect for the end user.
